Janet Ruth Moore

June 30, 1935 — February 23, 2022

Janet Ruth Moore, 86, of King, North Carolina, entered into the presence of Jesus on February 23, 2022. She was born to James and Marian Boettcher of Wymore, Nebraska, on June 30, 1935. She attended Wymore High School, and then earned her Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, and PHD, in English, at the University of Nebraska. Janet taught English at Millard-Lefler Junior High in Lincoln, Nebraska. She then taught at John F. Kennedy College in Wahoo, Nebraska. Janet spent ten years in the Student Counseling Center at the University of Nebraska, as well as co-teaching the Health and Wellness program. During the 1980's, Janet became the Assistant Dean of the University of Nebraska Law School. She was then appointed as the acting vice chancellor for the university for a specified amount of time. Janet moved to Summerfield, North Carolina, in 1987. She became the counseling department head at Guilford College. After her retirement, Janet became very active in the American Revolutionary reenactment group in her local area. Katie Greene, wife of General Nathaniel Greene, and Martha Washington were two of her favorite characters. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Janet leaves behind her son, Joseph L. Krause, Jr. of Lincoln, Nebraska, and his wife Anne; and a sister, Laura Barnes and her husband Mike of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was an incredibly involved grandmother to her six grandchildren, and wrote many Bible story plays to be acted out when they were all younger. Grandchildren include Courtney Krause of Huntsville, Alabama; Rachel Camarena and her husband David of Bradshaw, Nebraska; Jonathan Krause of Tucson, Arizona; David Krause of Ft. Polk, Louisiana; Isaac Krause of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Joshua Krause of Lincoln, Nebraska. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Elenna, Nathan, and Kinsley Camarena of Bradshaw, Nebraska. Equally loved were her three stepsons, Kent Moore of Jackson Creek, North Carolina; Keith Moore of Whitsett, North Carolina; and Kurt Moore of Cascade, Virginia. A step-granddaughter is Elizabeth Moore of Jackson Creek, North Carolina. Janet's first love and passion was the Lord Jesus Christ, and she shared her love for Him to all. She was actively involved in the Greensboro chapter of Bible Study Fellowship for many years, as well as serving as their pianist. John 11:25-26 says, "Jesus said to her (Martha), 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?'" That would be Janet's question to each of you today. Do you believe this? She is joyfully experiencing her new life in Heaven with Jesus, and would hope that your eternal destiny would be the same!
