Rev. James Dyer Justice Jr., 58, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 11, 2015 at Davis Regional Hospital. He was born in Charlotte, NC on May 13, 1957 to late James Dyer Justice Sr. and Jacquelyn Miller Justice, who survives. Jim was a graduate of Statesville Senior High Class of 1976 and then served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a degree in Psychology and later graduated from Southeastern Seminary. On March 19, 1991, he married Shawn Rouse Justice, who survives. He served as Minister at Brinson Baptist Church in Brinson, GA and was later called to be interim Minister at Hiddenite Baptist Church. While serving as interim pastor, he taught school at Statesville High School in Family and Consumer Science before being called to be full time Pastor in 2010. He enjoyed gardening, walking his dog, and spending time with his family. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher James Justice and a nephew, Justin Taylor Lobeck. His mother-in-law, Grace Bost Rouse passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015. Left to cherish his memory are his mother and wife, Shawn of Statesville; a son, Christian Daniel Justice; a daughter, Taryn Ashly Justice; two sisters, Becky Justice and Julie Eckliff (Bill); sister-in-law, Ashly Willis; three nephews, Cameron and Tucker Willis and William Eckliff. A celebration of life service will be conducted 2:00PM Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Hiddenite Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jack Causey officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
