James Clay Gover, 57, of Cleveland, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Rockingham County on April 25, 1960, he was a beloved son of the late Sammy Clay Gover and Caroline Eola Freeman Gover. He was married to the former Margaret Freeland who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Grady Drum. Mr. Gover was an electrician for Southern Electric and prior to that was a truck driver. He enjoyed time with friends and family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph Profit, daughters: Melinda Wyatt (Gaylen), Karla and Autum Freeland, a brother, Thomas Hankins, two sisters, Laranda Joyce and Selisa Gover Hodges and three grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 :00 P.M. Wednesday, June 28th at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Triplett United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
