Mr. James Henry Gatton, 72, of Olin, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Iredell County on April 22, 1944, he was a son of the late Henry Rete Gatton, Jr. and Frances Fox Gatton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Gatton and two great grandchildren in addition to his parents. Mr. Gatton served his country in the U. S. Navy as a SEAL and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading the paper daily, talking with his computer friends and wordworking. He was retired from Bernhardt Furniture Co. Surviving are his wife, the former Janice Diane Sigmon, , sons, Kenneth Privette, Tony England (Crystal) and David Gatton (April) along with a brother, Mike Gatton, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Services celebrating Mr. Gatton’s life will be conducted at 2:00 Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson & Rev. David Warren officiating. Military rites will be presented by the North Iredell American Legion Post # 113 of Harmony and the family will greet friends in the church sanctuary following the service.
