Jack Wilton Mclean, 68, of Statesville, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his home. Jack was born in Wilson, NC on August 26, 1950 and was the son of the late Everette Mclean and Estelle Bunting Mclean.
He was a graduate of Statesville High School and he served his country as a Sargent with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Landmark Church of God.
On May 31, 2008 he married Jeannie Threatte Mclean and had recently just celebrated his 11th anniversary. Jack retired from Bartlett Milling Co and following his retirement, he went to work with Surry Maintenance.
Jack was a very active man and he loved the outdoors. He enjoyed walking and was a go-getter. He was an avid sports fan. Jack never met a stranger and would do anything he could to help his fellow man. Nothing compared to the love for his Lord and his family. Jack will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Gina Mclean and a nephew Jonathan Mclean.
Along with his wife Jeannie T. Mclean he is survived by two stepsons, Curtis Josey (Amy) of Troutman and Tanner Harris of Statesville along with one brother, John Mclean of Troutman and one sister, Rhonda Campbell (Tony) of Statesville. He is also survived by a niece, Christy Moore (Eli) of Statesville and a nephew Jason Mclean of Asheville. A great-nephew and great-niece, Brandon and Madison Moore along with a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.
A graveside funeral service honoring the life of Jack Mclean will be conducted at 2:30 PM Thursday, June 13, 2019 in the Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Moore, Curtis, Dillion and Curt Josey, Tanner Harris and Jason Mclean.
