Jack David Marler, 84, of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Stanley Total Living. He was born in Caldwell County on January 16, 1934 to the late Carl and Annabel Gillium Marler.
Jack attended Caldwell County Schools and was a member of Crestview Baptist Church in Belmont, NC. He was retired from Pilot Freight where he had worked as a maintenance mechanic for over 30 years. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Billy Marler, and a sister, Dorthy Brown.
Left to cherish his memory are the mother of his children, Frances Gilbert Marler; three sons, Jack D. Marler, Jr. (Beverly), Stanley Marler (Debbie), and Rodney Marler (Pam); grandsons, Marshall (Shannon), Matthew (Shovaun), Michael (Brandy), Cameron (Katie), and Shawn Marler; granddaughters, Brooke Nantz, Lauren Sutton (Spencer), and Laney Marler; eight great grandchildren; sister, Faye Allen; and brother, Jimmy Marler, both of Lenoir.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon at Cornerstone Family Worship in Mt. Holly with Rev. Michael Marler, grandson of Jack officiating with grandson, Shawn Marler assisting. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 11:00 until 11:45 am.
