J. M. Sigmon

Mr. J. M. Sigmon, 84, of Statesville, died Tuesday at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on May 28, 1932, he was a son of the late John Bell Sigmon and Edna Mae Fox Sigmon Little. J.M. was a retired carpenter and a member of New Bethany Baptist Church.
On June 26, 1949, he married the former Dorothy Johnson who survives. He is also survived by sons, Michael Steven Sigmon and Kathy, Rodney D. Sigmon and Ricky D. Sigmon, daughters, Sharon S. Brown and Randy, Debbie S. Miller and Grady. Also surviving are granddaughters: Stephanie Smith and Coley and Jennifer Deal, grandsons: Ashley Sigmon and Carman, Bradley Miller and Rachel, Jason Miller and Ashley and Blaine Mason and Ann, 1 great granddaughter, 7 great grandsons and 2 step great grandsons.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday at New Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason and Blaine Mason officiating. He will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will then receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church following the committal.
