Irene Money

Irene Katherine Waugh Money, 83, of Statesville, passed away, Sept. 23, 2011 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Money was born August 17, 1928 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Jay N. Waugh and Summa Deal Waugh. She attended Iredell County Schools and was married to the late George Money. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gene Money. Mrs. Money is survived by three daughters, Linda Miller (Jr. Ray) of Statesville, Judy Woodward (Donald) of Hiddenite, Carol Jordan (Tim) of Olin, two sons, Roger Money (Vicky) of Troutman, Charles Allen Money of Statesville, one daughter-in-law, Faye Money of Statesville, 11 grandchildren, Marty, Melissa, Danny, Gina, Lisa, Richard , Mandy, David, Amy, Jessica, Jennifer, 11 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and one sister, Barbara Congleton of Charlotte. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. B.N. Black officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:30-4:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
