Irene Elizabeth (Chambers) Moore

Irene Elizabeth Chambers Cowan Moore, 87, of Statesville, passed away, Monday, May 9, 2016 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.                 Ms. Moore was born July 28, 1928 in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late Gus and Hattie Jane Cowan Chambers. She attended Rowan County schools and was married to the late William Cowan and Richard Moore.                 Ms. Moore is survived by four daughters, Evangelist Patricia Jackson (Thomas, Sr.) of Statesville, Diana Cauthren (John, Jr.) of Troutman, Linda Rutley of Winston-Salem, Carolyn Baker (James) of CA; six sons, George Cowan of Winston-Salem, Nathnaiel Cowan of Winston-Salem, Jerry Cowan of CA, Paul Edward Cowan of CA, Ronnie Lee Cowan of Winston-Salem, Ricky Cowan of Winston-Salem and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three daughters, Thelma Sloan, Mary Ann Thompson and Brenda Baker.                 Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Thomas Jackson, Jr. and Pastor David Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Belmont Cemetery.                 Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Ms. Irene Moore.
