Mr. Hubert Allen Lindsey, 91, of Statesville, died Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Lindsey was born in Iredell County on October 5, 1925, and was the son of the late M.C. “Carl” Lindsey and Laura Augusta Parker Lindsey. He attended Iredell County schools and Southern Vocation Institute in Hickory. On August 7, 1943, he married Margaret Desolee Waugh Lindsey, who survives. Mr. Lindsey served in the 2nd Marine Division in the Pacific during World War II and he was also part of the occupying force that was in Japan after the war. Mr. Lindsey was owner of Lindsey’s TV Sales & Service for many years. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by three sisters, Ollie L. Harris, Connie L. Woodward and Shirley L. Hall along with one brother, Jack Lindsey. In addition to his wife of 74 years Desolee Lindsey, Mr. Lindsey is also survived by four children, Gaye Fox (Terry) of Statesville, David Lindsey (Sheila-deceased) of Nashville TN, Matt Lindsey of Nashville, TN, and Mark Lindsey (Teresa-deceased) of Clemmons, NC. In addition, he is survived by one brother Ed Lindsey (Helen) of Statesville, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services for Hubert Lindsey will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, Sept 10, in the Bethlehem UMC cemetery with Pastor Heather Kilbourne officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service in the Christian Life Center.
