Ronald “Howard” Dagenhart, Jr., 86, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Agape Hospice House in Lexington, SC.
Howard was born in Iredell County on September 8, 1933 to the late Ronald H. Dagenhart, Sr. and Beulah Mae Dearman Dagenhart. He was also preceded in death by a son; Richard Curtis Dagenhart and a sister; Shelia Sells.
Howard served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for Statesville Chair Company for over 40 years. As a long time member of Rose Chapel UMC he loved and was loved by his church family. In younger years Howard enjoyed many sports activities including softball, tennis, water skiing, and golf. In addition, he loved dancing, all types of music, traveling, and watching old westerns. Most Importantly, Howard was devoted to his family and friends, but most of all to his wife of 65 years, Marie.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie Martin Dagenhart, a daughter; Jan Daniels (Chip) of Lexington, SC, 3 grandchildren; Jodi D. Glenn (Mike), Erica D. Smith (Wess), and Wes H. Daniels, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister; Brenda D. Pence (Bill), a brother; Terry Dagenhart, and a special caregiver; Dena Finch.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Rose Chapel UMC with Rev. Gary Camp officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with family and friends Friday evening form 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
