� Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Lipes Moore, 95, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Moore was born in New Castle, VA on September 15, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Robert Fulton and Lula Pet Myers Moore. She was a graduate of New Castle schools and on July 13, 1940, she married Robert Latta Moore, who preceded her in death in 1986. Mrs. Moore was a member of First ARP Church and a member of the Walker Bible Class. She was retired from Sears Department Stores where she worked in the catalog ordering department. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Moore and wife Carol, three brothers, Robert W., Woodrow F., and Deal A. Lipes and two sisters, Mildred E. Lipes and Lucille Caroline L. Parsons. She is survived by a son, James E. Moore (Linda) of Raleigh, NC, two granddaughters, Meredith Anne Moore of Garner, NC, and Kirsten Elizabeth Moore of Burlington, VT, two grandsons, David James Moore (Alexa) of Chapel Hill and Robert K. Moore (Txell Martin-i-Pardo) of Barcelona, Spain and one step granddaughter, Kristin Gilmore. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Angell L. Smith, of New Castle, VA and six great grandchildren, Eliza, Charlie, Nolan, Farners, Liam, and Egan along with a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Helen Moore will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, January 24, 2015, at First ARP Church with Pastor Phillip McCoy officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home and again following the services Saturday in the Bride Deaton Parlor.
