Harry Clay Cash, 85, of Statesville, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, at Brian Center of Statesville. Mr. Cash was born in Iredell County on April 12, 1929, and was the son of the late Thomas Everette Cash and Nora Esther York Cash. He was a veteran of the National Guard and on December 22, 1956, he married Anna Elizabeth Ostwalt Cash, who survives. Mr. Cash was retired from Southern Screw following 40 plus years of service. He was a man who enjoyed fishing and going to flea markets. He was a big racing fan and was especially supportive of his son Mark and his racing years. He and his son Todd would attend as many racing events as possible along with his wife Anna, as long as her nerves could stand the pressure. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dwight Lee Powell along with three brothers and three sisters. Mr. Cash is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna along with one daughter, Tammy Cash Powell of Troutman and two sons, Mark Cash (Samantha Dudley) and Todd Cash, both of Statesville. He is also survived by four granddaughters, Kaycee and Kristi Powell and Kammie Cash, all of Troutman and Anna Michelle Cash of Johnson City, TN along with a sister, Shelby Jean Creedmore of Fayetteville, NC. A memorial service to honor the life of Harry Cash will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, November 14, 2014, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ernie Plemmons, Jr. and Rev. Otis Johnson, Jr. officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
