Harold Austin Miller

Mr. Harold Austin Miller, 92, of Troutman, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at his home. Born in Iredell County on November 29, 1925, he was a son of the late David Arthur Miller and Ada Mae Stewart Miller.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and four sisters, and his step mother, Roxie Albright Miller.
He was a member of Troutman First United Methodist Church and was retired from the N.C. Department Of Corrections as a prison guard. He also farmed. He was a loving husband, father and grandpaw. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Clarice Pauline Ostwalt Miller, two daughters, Janie Miller Dixon (Richard) and Donna Miller, grandchildren, Kellie Dixon Vicars and Amy Dixon Hansen and great grandchildren Austin and Evan Vicars. Also surviving are two sisters, Nancy Shafer and Kathleen Walters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Troutman First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Hamrick officiating. The family will greet friends at the church from 12:00 to 12:45 prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens with full military rites presented by the Iredell County Veterans Burial Detail.
