Harold Marlow

Mr. Harold Stamey Marlow, 73, of Harmony, NC passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at Davis Regional Medical Center with his family at his side. Mr. Marlow was born March 5, 1937 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Annie Belle McHargue Marlow and Stamey Harold Marlow. He was a graduate of Harmony High School, class of 1955 and after graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force and embarked on a 21 � year career before retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1977. During his military years he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal among other awards and citations. On November 2, 1957, he was married to Mary Frances Allen Marlow, who survives of the home. After retirement he returned home to Harmony, NC and worked in various jobs including elementary school bus driver, many years at JP Stevens Turnersburg Plant and at ASMO Statesville before becoming medically disabled. Although slowed in his later years he enjoyed the company of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is survived by three children, Sharon Marlow of the home, Timothy Marlow (Sandra) of Harmony, Anthony Marlow of Statesville, three grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Marlow of Statesville, CPL Timothy Craig Marlow USMC of Hawaii, Antonette "Annie" Mary Marlow of Statesville, two great grandchildren, Sean Nicholas England, Nevada James Rader and news of a third great grandchild to arrive in Sept. of 2011. He is further survived by a special uncle, Paul McHargue of Statesville, two aunts, Sadie Harris and Ruby Dellinger of Statesville and nephew, Howard Joseph Reese. Mr. Marlow was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Reese. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.R. Speece officiating. Burial will follow in the V.A. Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
