Harold C. Johnson, 84, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Johnson was born in Iredell County on June 15, 1930, and was the son of the late Ralph Johnson and Elsie Mayberry Johnson. He was married to Rachel Harris Johnson, who preceded him in death. He was a self-employed carpenter. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by two brothers, Brady Howard Johnson and Clyde Luther Johnson along with one sister, Lillian Louise Johnson. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie J. Weathers, and husband, Clyde, of Statesville, two grandsons, Paul Michael Weathers, and wife, Ragan, and their daughter, Sarah Cadence Weathers, of Charlotte and Daniel Heath Weathers of Newton-Conover along with one granddaughter, Kayla Elizabeth Weathers, of Statesville. He is also survived by one brother, C.O. "Jap" Johnson, and his wife, Carol, and sister-in-law, Jane Johnson, all of Statesville. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 2600 Old Mountain Road, Hiddenite, with Pastor Brian Eades officiating. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Johnson's honor to Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 2600 Old Mountain Road, Hiddenite, NC 28636, or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
