Harold Ross Johnson

Mr. Harold Ross Johnson, 80, of Stony Point, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born in Iredell County on January 8, 1936, he was a son of the late Ross Johnson and Janie Byers Johnson. He worked in textiles and part time farming. He especially enjoyed his time spent farming. He was preceded in death by a brother, Foy Johnson and a sister, Linda Woodside. Survivors include his wife, Jean Sigmon Johnson, brothers: Melvin Johnson (Elaine), Steven Johnson (Brenda) and Carol Johnson and sisters, Shirley Stewart (Neil) and Donna Walls (Johnny) along with a brother-in-law, Wayne Woodside, all of Statesville. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Mr. Dave Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. this evening (Tuesday) at Nicholson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com .
