Gwyn Lowery Keever Eller went to be with the Lord following a brief illness. Gwyn was the daughter of the late Robert Alfred and Ella Lowery Keever of Kannapolis, NC. For 61 years she was the loving and devoted wife of Robert C. Eller, Sr. In addition to her husband, Gwyn is survived by her son, Robert C. Eller, Jr (Sally) of Statesville, NC, her daughter, Jackie Eller Jordan (Mark), of Columbia, SC; grandchildren Frank Parlier (Faylon), Johanna Jordan, Andrew Jordan and great grandson Cameron Parlier. Gwyn also leaves behind numerous friends and relatives. Gwyn graduated from Catawba College in 1954 with a BA in Education. Her love of reading compelled her to return to school to earn her degree in Library Science from Winthrop College in 1973. She worked as an elementary school librarian for the Statesville City School system for over twenty years. Known for her gentle and generous spirit, Gwyn had the gifts of hospitality and encouragement, and brought out the best in those she loved. She was patient and always quick with a kind word. She mastered the art of homemaking and enjoyed nature, art, sewing, making quilts, and a variety of needlework. During the last decades, she and Bob split their time between the Laurel Springs community of North Carolina and Pawley’s Island, South Carolina where she enjoyed the natural beauty of both locations. A funeral service celebrating Gwyn’s life will be held at the chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville, NC, on Saturday May 23rd at 2:00 PM with internment at Oakwood Cemetery, Statesville, NC. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM prior to the service at Nicholson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held the following Saturday, May 30th at 11:00 AM Georgetown Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, SC.
