Grover Carldon Benton 84, was received to his Heavenly home the morning of December 15, 2021. He was born July 21, 1937 in Longs, SC to the late Grover Cleveland and Teasley Oakley (Caines) Benton. He was a loving, dedicated husband and family man who believed in hard-work and being honest. Having worked with his hands most of his life; he farmed with his parents as a young boy until he found his passion within the furniture industry as a cloth cutter. He later returned to school receiving his GED and HVAC certificate. Nearing retirement, Grover was called into ministry and soon opened a place of worship (Prayer, Praise and Worship Church) within his community. He retired from Michael Thomas, High Point. Grover is survived by his loving wife of 48 yrs, Frances Garner Benton; sons, Gregory and wife Angel, Jeffrey and wife Shirley, David Michael and Katherine, wife of decedent son Wesley; daughters Donna and husband James Lowe, Cheryl and husband Lane Lewter, Cheryl and husband Tanveer Iqbal, Dawn and husband Thomas Poole, Paula and husband Richard Absher. Surviving brothers William "Bill" and wife Helen, Samuel "Reo" Benton and Nikka, wife of decedent brother Jennings; 3 sisters, Dalma and husband Richard Rabon, Patricia "Pat" and husband Huey Loflin, Sonya and husband Mike Hill. Grover loved family and was very proud of the fact that he was blessed with such a large legacy number which holds 31 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jennings Benton; son, Wesley Benton; daughter, Cindy Benton (newborn). There will be a celebration of life service held at his church on December 28, 2021 at 6p located at 707 Stemp Everhart Rd. Thomasville.
