Mr. Gregory Hunter (Gregg) Mills, 60, of Statesville, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born February 7, 1955 in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Robert Lee Mills and Peggy Hunter Mills who survives. Gregg was the owner-operator of the Rolling Pin and Special Touch Catering for 36 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, sightseeing and his many friends. He was a member of Christ-Boulevard United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and Mitchell Community College. In addition to his mother, he is survived by the love of his life, Penny Carpenter of Claremont, a daughter, Torie Carpenter Combs (Tim) of Fort Mill, S.C. and grandchildren: Wesley Hunter Combs, Madelyn Combs and Matthew Combs. Services celebrating Gregg’s life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. There will then be a family gathering/meal at the Rolling Pin on Shelton Avenue. Food may be delivered to the Rolling Pin as the family will be assembling there also.
