Grady Doughton Stout

Grady Doughton Stout, 76, of Moravian Falls, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Wilkes Medical Center.
Grady was born September 6, 1942 in Iredell County and was the son of the late June Lee and Evelyn Branton Stout. He attended Iredell County Schools and in April 29, 1967 he married Edna Faye Tilley Stout and together they shared 41 years of marriage before her passing on May 21, 2008.
He was self-employed as a chicken farmer while his health would allow.
In addition to his wife and parents, Grady was preceded in death by five siblings, Lois Speaks, Gardner Stout, Harlee Stout, Dessie Speaks, and Nellree Hefner.
Left to cherish his memory is three daughters, Leona Johnson (Alem) of Union Grove, Lisa Johnson (Timothy), Anita Hurst (Steve), both of Statesville and one son, David Lee Stout of Moravian Falls. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jody (Jennie Rae), Cody (Shelbi), Jessica, Chris, and Kimberly Johnson and Adam and Emily Hurst. He is further survived by two sisters, Aileen Head and Flossie Bustle (Chip) and one brother, Lindburg Stout (Marie) along with six great grandchildren, Alana, Elizabeth, Bentlee, C.J., Thomas, and Broncson Johnson.
Funeral services honoring the life of Grady Stout will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason & Pastor Wesley Morris. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
