Mr. Grady “Fuzzy” Daniels, 88, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Maple Leaf Healthcare.
Mr. Daniels was born in Iredell County on October 26, 1930 and was the son of the late Columbus Flake Daniels and Martha Southers Daniels. He attended Iredell County Schools and on October 23, 1948 he married Viola Sharpe Daniels and together they shared 70 years before his passing.
Mr. Daniels was self-employed as owner/operator of D&D Trucking. He was a lifelong member of Ham’s Grove Baptist Church and at the time of his death was the oldest living member of the church.
Mr. Daniels was a man who enjoyed the outdoors. He especially loved to work his garden. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and he had a special kind of love for his great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Daniels along with four brothers and two sisters.
In addition to his wife Viola, he is survived by one daughter, Trudy Horton, two sisters, Marie Cheek and Ruth Creedmore, one granddaughter, Crystal Daniels (Todd) and two great-grandchildren, Nick and Hollie Benfield. A host of niece and nephews also survive.
Funeral services honoring the life of Fuzzy Daniels will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, March 11 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Ham’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
