Gordon Sladen, age 92, of Statesville passed away December 6, 2020 at Gordon Hospice House.
He was born May 30, 1928 in England the son of the late Alfred Sladen and Edith Richmond Sladen. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene Sladen and son, Kirk Sladen.
Gordon served in the Royal Airforce in England. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing and watching sports. He worked as both a tobacco line worker and a piano tuner and sang tenor in a barbershop quartet.
Left to cherish his memory are his step daughters, Denise Rogers and husband Steve, Laureen Bellows and husband Lubos Dunovsky, and Carole Gibbons and husband Mark; grandchildren, Eric Sladen (Andrea), Scott Sladen (Rosie), Sean Sladen, Kristin Sladen Jones (Nick), Christopher Rogers and Justin Bullerdick; and numerous other family and friends.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
