Gilberto Galavez

Gilberto Galvez, born on March 18, 1949, in Guatemala, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, in Catawba County, North Carolina, at the age of 75.

Gilberto was a dedicated and skilled painter, both in commercial and residential capacities. His work brought color and life to countless spaces, reflecting his meticulous eye for detail and passion for his craft.

A man of simple pleasures, Gilberto cherished travel and the opportunity it afforded him to explore new places. However, he found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, often engaging in long, enjoyable conversations over a cup of coffee. These moments were treasured by those who knew him, as they highlighted his warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others.

Gilberto was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Father José Luis Barillas and Mother María Francisca Gálvez. He is survived by his sisters, María Piedad Catalan Gálvez and Marta L. José Tomás, along with his niece, Lesbia Roman, who will all dearly miss his presence in their lives.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Gilberto's life will be held at a later date. In this time of remembrance, family and friends are invited to reflect on the cherished memories and enduring legacy he leaves behind.
