Gary Dale Woods

Gary Dale Woods, 70, of Statesville, died Thursday, May 23, 2019.
He was born October 8, 1948 in Iredell County to the late Roy Jacob Woods and Faye Sherrill Woods. He was also preceded in death by a brother; Larry Wayne Woods, Sr. and a nephew; Scottie Woods.
Gary was a graduate of Celeste Henkel School, attended Surry County Community College, was retired from Commscope and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was an artist, a carpenter, an award-winning taxidermist, and was a member of the NC Taxidermy Association.
Gary is survived by his sister; Lynda Woods Peacock and her husband, James, 2 nieces; Tamara Cloer (Chris), Lisa Peacock, 3 nephews; Michael Woods (Beth), Larry Woods, Jr. (Beverly), Tracy Woods (Kim), a sister-in-law; Ilar T. Woods, 4 great nephews; Brayden and Colby Cloer, Jonathan Blevins, Dylan Ward, 3 great-nieces; Morgan Peacock, Payton and Stephanie Ward along with 6 other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10:00am at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Henry Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with family and friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Nicholson Funeral Home.
