Gary Lee Curtis, age 76, of Winston Salem, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Born on July 10, 1946, in Montgomery County (Dayton), OH, he was the son of the late Paul Thomas Curtis and Evelyn Ring Curtis.
Mr. Curtis was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in Lake Texoma, TX, and played on the traveling Softball team. He worked for General Motors for 30 years before his retirement. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed fishing. He loved to play cards and was an enormous Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns fan. One could also say he had a "passion for ice cream."
In addition to his parents, Paul and Evelyn Curtis, he was preceded in death his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Kay Solon Curtis. Thos left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Angela Holloway and husband, Terry and Lisa May and husband, Robert; and grandchildren, Emilie Holloway and Brian Holloway.
To honor the family's wishes, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis' cremated remains will be scattered in Lake Texoma, TX where they first met while he was stationed in the United States Air Force.
