Franklin “Pappy” Odell Ridenhour, 69, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Stanley County on July 20, 1945 to the late Walter Odell Ridenhour and Dorothy Hall Ridenhour. Mr. Ridenhour attended Statesville City Schools and was a driver for C & G Towing until his health forced him to retire. He was a member of Cochran Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Cody Ridenhour of Statesville; two daughters, Libby Ridenhour Jones of Statesville and Wendy R. Scholz (Dave) of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and two stepsons, Terry and James Wilhelm. He is further survived by one brother, Jerry Ridenhour of Shelby; two sisters, Berlene Ashley (James) of Statesville and Bessie Shephard of Salisbury and his best friend and caregiver, Brian Parish. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Cochran Street Baptist Church with Pastor Thomas Young officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour. Burial will follow at the Crestview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at Nicholson Funeral Home Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00PM.
