Flossie Ailene (Woodward) Mason

Flossie Ailene Woodward Mason, 91, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at her residence.  She was born in Iredell County on November 13, 1926 to the late Walter Linzy Woodward and Daily Goodin Woodward. Mrs. Mason was a graduate of Central High School and was married to James Floyd Mason, who preceded her death.  She worked most of her career at Beauty Maid Mills as a seamstress, retiring after over 35 years of service.  Flossie was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and mother-in-law who always put others before herself.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Along with her parents and husband, James, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Brian Mason. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Wayne Mason of Statesville and Jerry Allen Mason (Janet) of Troutman; daughter-in-law, Debby Mason of Statesville; six grandchildren, April, Kim, Chris, Matt, Lindsey, and Robert; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Zella Duncan and Eula McClelland. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Cook officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will visit with friends following the graveside portion of the service.
