Faye Louise Wooten Loyd, 80, is home with her Lord and Savior. She passed away peacefully at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville, Saturday, September 19, 2015. Faye was born October 23, 1934 in Iredell County to the late Edgar and Annie Louise Howard Wooten. She was a homemaker who was known for her spotless home and her wonderful meals including her homemade biscuits and chocolate pies. She attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the food committee. Her pound cakes and vegetable salad were church favorites. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and always had a special place in her heart for their four legged family members who were always welcome in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Norris Loyd, Sr. on January 4, 2014. They were married on September 5, 1952. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Clay Wooten, sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty Stroud (Gilbert), Dorothy Fox (Benny), and Edwinna Gillon, brothers-in-law, R.C. Loyd, Grady S. Loyd, John R. Loyd, Billy Mayberry and Thomas A. Loyd and sisters-in-law: Laura Nell Myers and Georgia Loyd, an anut Marie Knox and an uncle Fred Howard. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Fox (Nelson) of Statesville and Robin Davis (Brian) of Wilkesboro, sons, James Loyd, Jr. (Susan) of Monroe and Thomas Loyd (Jennifer) of Statesville. Also surviving are grandchildren: Nicole Davis of Wilkesboro, Jeremy Fox (Jessica), Casey Laws (Caleb), William and Daniel Loyd of Statesville, James, Kathryn, Jacob and Emily Loyd of Monroe and great grandchildren: Whitney and Wyatt Fox. Also surviving are sisters-in-law: Iris Mayberry of Union Grove, Martha Kirkman (Charles) of Pleasant Garden, Sarah Lea Loyd and Cordia “Cookie” Wilson (Jim) of Statesville, Pat Parks (David) of Banner Elk and Barbara Loyd of Salisbury in addition to brothers-in-law: Max Loyd (Aileen) of Clemson, S.C., and A.K. Loyd (Pat) of Stony Point and Sammy Myers of Winston-Salem along with many very special nieces, nephews and cousins and her four legged companion, Izzy. Services celebrating Faye’s life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Robinette officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be preceding the service from 1:30 until 3:00 at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be: Jeremy Fox, Caleb Laws, James Loyd, Jacob Loyd, John Stroud and Bryce Prevette. Honorary pallbearers will be: William and Daniel Loyd.
