Faye Walker

Faye Lambert Walker, 79, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born September 28, 1933 in West Jefferson, NC and was the daughter of the late Wilbur Clint Lambert and Nora Parson Lambert. Mrs. Walker was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and then continued her education with Catawba Tech receiving a nursing degree. On June 28, 1956 she married John Dillard Walker, who survives. She was a member of New Sterling ARP Church and had retired from Iredell Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service as a nurse in the ER. In addition to her husband John Walker, she is survived by a son, Dwight Walker (Amy), of Stony Point, a daughter, Debbie Walker, of Virginia, three grandsons, Daniel Walker, of Stony Point, Josh Feimster (Crystal), of Stony Point, Dana Thurmond, of Virginia, and one granddaughter, Morgan Crotey, of Georgia. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, several sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law along with numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Walker will be conducted 2:00PM Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at New Sterling ARP Church with Dr. Tim Watson, Dr. Earl Linderman and Mr. Josh Feimster officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00PM at the church.
