Faye Spicer

Faye McCoy Spicer, 77, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Spicer was born January 28, 1934 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson McCoy and Georgie Cook McCoy. She attended Iredell County Schools and in 1991, she was married Larry D. Spicer, who survives. Mrs. Spicer was retired from Zimmer Patient Care where she worked as quality control inspector and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Spicer was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Russell and a great-niece, Shannon Morgan. Mrs. Spicer enjoyed hobbies such as crafts, knitting, and quilting. She also enjoyed gospel music and she is now being serenaded by Angels. In addition to her husband, Larry D. Spicer, of the home, Mrs. Spicer is also survived by one daughter, Janet Russell of Randleman, N.C.; one son, Kirby Nash (Cindy) of Statesville; two step-daughters, Danyel Galliher (James) of Statesville and Lora Bishop of Glen Allen, VA. She is also survived by three sisters, Maggie Baumberger (Rick), and Betsy Thomas (Ed), both of Statesville and Shirley Watts (Bob) of Heyburn, ID. along with four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, cousins and special aunt, Nellie Karriker. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Eanes and Rev. Larry Holleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be J.W. Prevette, Keith Prevette, Kirt Thomas, Chestley Nash, David Morgan, and Craig Johnson.
