Fannie "Libby" Stewart

Fannie Elizabeth “Libby” Benton Stewart, 76 of Statesville, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Iredell County on August 19, 1946, to the late John Moses Benton and Fannie Elizabeth Davidson Benton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Stewart and her son, Jonathan Stewart.
Libby was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she had overseen the preschool/children’s ministry. She loved going to the beach, playing games on her tablet, doing crafts, working in her puzzle books, watching Kevin Harvick and NASCAR, and listening to The Chuck Wagon Gang and Alan Jackson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Susan Stewart, a sister, Janie Benton, and numerous family members.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Scott Eanes and Rev. Paul Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service at the church.
