Eula Keaton Campbell

April 7, 1927 — February 9, 2020

Eula Mae Keaton Campbell, 92, of Statesville, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Gordon Hospice House.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Iredell County on April 7, 1927 to the late D. Spurgeon Keaton and Ola Bustle Keaton. She attended Iredell County Schools and on July 25, 1946 she married L.P. Campbell and together they shared 28 years of marriage until his passing on April 3, 1975.
Mrs. Campbell was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church over 50 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir while her health allowed. Mrs. Campbell along with the Keaton Family Singers would go to local assisted living facilities and sing for the residents.
She worked with Beaunite Mills and in 1966, she started the best occupation she would ever have, caring for her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Lewis and Larry Campbell, four brothers, James, Roy, Joe, and Tommy Keaton along with three sisters, her twin Beulah Wall, Rachel Jordan and Betty Grant.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Brenda Taylor (Jim) and Kathy Hester (Michael) both of Statesville and daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Campbell of Zebulon; eight grandchildren, David Yates (Kelly), Darrin Yates, Dana Patrick (Charlie), Lacy Graham (D.J.), Jenna Sherrill (Jason), Elyse Woodruff (Tim), Katy Campbell and Luke Campbell. She is further survived by a sister, Katherine Bowlin of Troutman, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate the life of Eula Campbell will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Haizlip and Rev. Dermont Crabtree officiating. The family will speak with friends Wednesday starting at 1:30 until 2:45 PM at the church. A private burial will be held at a later date.
