Eugene Wilson Fowler

LINWOOD-Mr. Eugene Wilson "Gene" Fowler, 80, of Linwood, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior August 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Gene was born October 28, 1940 in Lancaster County, South Carolina to the late Claude Sylvester and Maggie Juanita Beckham Fowler. He was a dedicated servant, usher and choir member of Currytown Baptist Church. Gene retired in 2004 as a CNC computer programmer from Navis Global in Lexington, NC. He enjoyed his family, church, fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. Gene was proud of his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fowler is preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia Fowler, son Mike Baker, brothers Sonny Fowler, Jimmy Fowler, Ralph Fowler, and sister Barbara Jean Fowler. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 56 years Betty Lou McLemore Fowler, three sons Cecil Fowler (Jodi), Randy Fowler (Lisa), and Randall Fowler (Diana), four grandchildren Cason Fowler, T. J. Plyler, Fallon Ramsey, Matthew Fowler, and Christopher Fowler, one great-granddaughter Bella Alessio, and brother Ronnie Fowler (Linda). The family extends special thanks to the Alston Brook staff for taking such great care of Eugene along with the support of Hospice of Davidson County. A Celebration of Life graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, August 6, 2021 at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends at the home of Betty Fowler. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
