Mrs. Ethel Dyson Hollar, 59, of Statesville, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on September 20, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Andrew Dyson and Gevena Hamm Dyson. Mrs. Hollar was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and worked in the cafeteria at the Statesville Auto Auction. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Nathaniel Dyson. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Talmadge Gray Hollar, two daughters, Melissa Gail Hollar and Tabitha Hollar Hudspeth, a son-in-law, Richard Amedo, brothers, Stanley Thomas Dyson, Sr. (Linda) and Roger Dale Dyson (Tammy) and sisters, Mary Dyson Hooper (Michael), Alice Dyson and Bonnie Dyson Cook (Dale), all of Statesville Also surviving are grandchildren: Maitlyn Hollar, Savannah Amedo and Michael Amedo. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 Wednesday at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Campbell and Rev. Keith Stanley officiating. She will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the Barkers Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mack Campbell, Darrell Robinette, Shane Baldwin, Michael Hager, Billy Linney, Randy Jordan, Gary Cass and Jerry Cass. Gary Edwards will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
