Ernest Dale Smith

Mr. Ernest Dale "Pnut" Smith, 70, of Clemmons, NC passed away February 24, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Smith, the son of the late Sam W. and Evelyn Miller Smith, was born in Charlotte, NC May 10, 1950. He was a tower crane operator and was a part of the construction of the Wachovia Building in Winston-Salem and the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro. He is a member of Hanes Baptist Church in Winston Salem and in his spare time enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his yard. Pnut loved the Lord and his church family. He was known for his generosity and was always ready to help when there was a need. He was a blessing, loved by many and will be missed. We love you Pnut. Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Chris Wyse (Amanda) of Winston-Salem; sister, Glenda Ridings (Tommy) of Clemmons; brother, Lee Simpson (Donna) of Winston-Salem; granddaughters, Sheyanne Conner, Bryanna Smith, Rachael Stack, Shiloh Watson, Sidney Workman, and Hailey Watson; grandsons, Lyndon Harmon and Dylan White; great-granddaughter, Paisley Johnson; great-grandson, Nathamnael Zelaya; 10 nieces and nephews; life-long friends, James Barber and Pete Tilley. A memorial service for Pnut will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Hanes Baptist Church, 4210 Sabrina Lake Road, Winston Salem, NC.
