Mr. Eric Vaughn Johnson

Eric Vaughn Johnson, 46, of Advance, N.C. died unexpectedly on Friday, May 17, 2019 in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Iredell County on June 28, 1972, he was a son of the late Billy Lee Johnson and Marlyn Elizabeth Burke Johnson Smith, who survives. He enjoyed NASCAR, his dogs, Copper and Griffin, fishing, Tar Heel sports and following the Chicago Bears. He was employed with Environmental Air System, LLC.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step father, Thomas Lynwood (Woody) Smith, a brother, Scott Johnson and his wife, Jimmi Anne, step sisters, Alice Trexler (Charlie) and Sarah Smith, a step brother, Lynwood Smith (Allie) and a nephew, Trevor Johnson and two step nieces, Barret and Sterling Trexler. Also surviving is his girlfriend, Heather Pinnix.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Nicholson Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ivan Peden officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:00 until 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
