Elvira White Jensen

Elvira White Jensen died peacefully on June 10, 2019 at the SECU Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC, Pittsboro, NC.
Elvira was born on December 19, 1935 to the late John Albert White and Connie Brown White in Iredell County. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Ervin Leon White, Marshall Edward White, and Albert Doyle White, her first husband, Marvin E. Haislip, and her second husband, Earl S. Jensen.
She graduated from Iredell County Schools, was employed by Bassett Furniture Manufacturing Company, was a Charter Member of Fairview Baptist Church in Statesville and a member of the Christian Church in Hassell, NC.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter; Lisa H. Slimmer (Daryll) of Pittsboro, NC, a son; Lee Marvin Haislip (Virginia) of Oak City, NC, grandchildren; Zach Slimmer (Kylynn) of Seagrove, NC, Lee Marvin Haislip, Jr. of Oak City, NC, Mindy Stryder (Michael) of Williamston, NC, great-grandchildren; Ryan, Troy and Adelynn Slimmer of Seagrove, NC, Luke Gardner of Oak City NC, siblings; Clyde Wilson White (Sue), Wilma W. Gooden (Kenneth), Johnsie W. Hayes (Doyle), James Pressly White, Harry T. White (Liz), and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 12:00 noon at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:45 am to 11:45 am at Nicholson Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
