Eloise (Gray) Wilson

Eloise Gray Lackey Wilson, 95, of Statesville, passed away, Friday, September 8, 2017 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Ms. Wilson was born January 9, 1922 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Andrew Eugene Gray and Rachel Jenkins Gray. She was a graduate of Sharon Schools and was a long-standing member of Concord Presbyterian Church. She was married to the late Cecil Ray Lackey, who passed away in 1986 and later remarried the late Zeb Wilson.  She was retired from N.C. National Bank, later known as Bank of America for 30 years. She loved to work in her garden, planting flowers or vegetables and especially loved playing cards with her friends. She is survived by three children, Gary Lackey (Virginia) of Denver, NC, Keith Lackey (Janet) of Statesville, Cecile Lackey Praitano of Augusta, GA; three granddaughters, Pamela Armstrong, Amanda Perry, Rachel Praitano; five great grandchildren, Brooke Armstrong, Holli Armstrong, Ella Rae Perry, Lila Gray Moats, Wyatt Andrew Moats; one brother, Reid Gray of Statesville, and two sisters, Phyllis Joyner of Statesville and Shirley Goodman of Salisbury. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Lois Ervin, Inez Tomlin, Laverne Clanton, Marie Kimberlin, Colene Hurt and 3 brothers, Charles Neil Gray, Leon Gray, Kenneth Gray. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Concord Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
