Elizabeth Campbell Bowling

Elizabeth Campbell Bowling, 90, of Statesville and formerly of Knoxville, TN., died Tuesday May 22, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born on October 13, 1927 in Kilpatrick, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude Elizabeth Cantrell Campbell. She formerly worked for the Dempster Dumpsters Corporation in Knoxville and was a member of the Norwood Baptist Church.  Her husband, Lindle Leon Bowling, died in 2002. In 2005 she moved to Statesville to be near her daughter, Linda Bowling Sample, who survives.

She is also survived by three granddaughters, Leigh S. Brown (Chris), of Statesville, Susan S. Simonton (Scott), of Indian Trail, N.C. and Marty S. Mauppin (Chris) of Troutman. Seven great grandchildren also survive: Elizabeth Thomas (Badin), Thomas Brown, Lindsay Simonton, Mac Simonton, Cole Loftis, Riley Mauppin and Ella Mauppin along with one brother, Paul Campbell and two sisters, Brenda Underwood and Irma Jones

The family will greet friends in Statesville on Friday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Funeral services and burial will be in Knoxville, TN. on Sunday, May 27, 2018.
