Elda Marie Dishman

Mrs. Elda Marie Dishman, 68, of Statesville, died Monday, March 25 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Dishman was born in Iredell County on October 13, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Toylee Dishman and Emmer Mae Dishman Dishman.
She attended Iredell County schools and she was married to Roy Lee Dishman who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dishman was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. In 2001, Elda Marie was diagnosed with breast cancer and was a proud breast cancer survivor.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are three children, Reggie Dishman (Sylvia) of Dandridge, TN, Terrenia D. Young (Rance), and Michele D. Welborn (Mark), both of Statesville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brennan, Arron, Dylan, Nicholas, Brittany, Tiffanie, Austin and Natalya along with two great-grandchildren, Georgia Jo and Dale Thomas. She is further survived by a brother, James Dishman (Belinda) of Cool Spring and Mary Williams (Jerry) of Statesville.
Graveside funeral services for Elda Dishman will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, March 31 in the Taylor Springs Baptist Church cemetery with Pastor Darrell Williams officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday, March 30 from 7 until 9 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home and will gather at other times at the home of Elda Dishman. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Williams, Brennan Elmore, Nicholas Elmore, Austin Young, Dylan Dishman, and Arron Wellborn.
