Edward Eugene Lackey

Mr. Edward Eugene (Buster) Lackey, 80, of Statesville, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at his home. Born in Iredell County on March 24, 1935 he was a son of the late Dessie Lackey. Buster was a retired truck driver and a member of Front Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching TV, especially boxing, NASCAR and Westerns. He dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and going to the beach. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth L. Philbeck and Mildred L. Payne and a brother, Lawrence (Larry) Lackey. On April 5, 1972, he married the former Jane Allen who survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert (Robby) Lackey (Beth) of Statesville, a daughter, Deborah L. Jordan of Olin, grandchildren: Mechelle Williams (Barry), of Harmony, Wesley Jordan (Amanda) of Union Grove, Haley Jordan Sigmon (Ryan) of Claremont, Rory Lackey and Emory Lackey both of Statesville, along with five great grandchildren and his dog and best friend, Ruddy. Also surviving is a special friend, Ann Mayberry and her family. Services celebrating Buster’s life will be conducted at  3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Front Street Baptist Church with Rev.
