Edith Anderson Wells, 87, of Statesville, passed onto her heavenly home February 11, 2016. She was born in Greeneville, Tennessee on February 24, 1928. She was a graduate of Plant City High School where she was the high school beauty queen and after graduation worked as a medical secretary. She was married to Harry Ray Wells who preceded her in death on June 26, 2015. They had almost 65 years of marriage before his passing and he lovingly cared for Edith. She helped Harry run their Wells Hardware Store in Plant City, Florida. She was a dedicated wife and mother of four children. Her hobbies were sewing, working in the yard, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving children are David Wells (Salley), Martin Wells (Karen), Judy Wells Tomlin (Jan Philip), Sharon Wells Wheelis (Eric); 6 grandchildren Zack, Justin, Lindsay, Alex, Matthew & Mitchell; and one great granddaughter - Anna Riley. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Nelson Grenade and Rev.Dr. Jack Causey officiating. A private family burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. A special thanks to their caregiver, Tina, that took care of both Edith & Harry in their home for over 2 years.
