Mrs. Edith Caldwell Purdy Horn, 87, of Cleveland, NC passed away, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Brian Center of Statesville. Mrs. Horn was born March 5, 1928 in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late William Mason Caldwell and Pearl Niblock Caldwell. She was a graduate of Cool Spring School and Mitchell College with a degree in business. She was a Travel Agent owning Travel Time of Salisbury for 22 years, was a former member of Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church and was a member of the American Business Women’s Association, serving as Past President. She loved all animals, especially cats. Mrs. Horn is survived by one daughter, Diane Strutz Bishop (Gary) of Knoxville, TN, two sons, Roy Douglas Wilcox (Sally) of Knoxville, TN, Gary Alan Wilcox of Cool Spring, NC; three grandchildren, Jen Kamalzadeh (Mo), Ashley Shuman, Brian Strutz (Jessica); five great grandchildren, Isaiah and Jordan Shuman, Sebastian, Cruz and Maxim Kamalzadeh and one special cousin and caregiver, Neal Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Robert Horn and one son, Stephen Ray Wilcox. Memorial services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Hannah officiating.
