Mrs. Doris Redding Norris, 86, of Statesville, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Charlotte on November 9, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Curtis Adair Redding and Faye Huneycutt Redding. She was an active member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. She was the head of the Pink Ladies and Candy Stripers at Iredell Memorial Hospital for many years when the Pink Tea Room first opened. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Amos Lamar Norris, a son, Robert Bryan Norris (Kay Allison) of Charlotte, two daughters, Cathy Joan Norris and Judy Caudle (Tim) both of Statesville. Also surviving are a sister, Shirley Redding Huntley of Charlottesville, Va., grandchildren: Courtney White (Nathaniel), Kacie Teeter (Kyle), Jesse Caudle, Robert Bryan Norris, Jr., John Joseph Norris and Abby Caudle and great grandchildren: Anna Redding Teeter, Charlotte Abigail Teeter, Emerie Grace White and Lenya Hope White. Services celebrating Mrs. Norris’ life will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Spry officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Condolences may be sent online to the family to
