Doris June (Mulligan) Hunsuck

Mrs. Doris June Mulligan Hunsuck, 87, formerly of Charlotte, passed away, Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Autumn Care of Statesville. Mrs. Hunsuck was born November 20, 1929 in Charlotte, NC and was the daughter of the late Sylvester Walker Mulligan and Melita Beatrice Johnson Mulligan. She was a graduate of Shelby High School and on was married to the late Charles Irwin Hunsuck, Jr. She had a career in sales and modeling for wholesale clothing for buyers and was an “Exceptional Great Mom”. She was a former member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Charlotte and was a former member of Carolina Golf and Country Club in Charlotte, where she was an avid golfer and enjoyed plying when she could. Doris is survived by two sons, Charles I. Hunsuck, III (Julia) of Charlotte, NC; Jim Hunsuck (Tameron) of Statesville; four grandchildren, Christina Reimann (Craig) of Statesville, Dr. Ashley Hunsuck and fiancé, Ryan Smith of Macon, GA, George Watts (Genna) of Mocksville, NC, Natalee Wheeler (Chris) of Fairview, NC and five great grandchildren, Arden Reimann, Mason Wheeler, Greyson Wheeler, Caleb White and Micah White. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ray Mulligan. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Huntersville, NC. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
