Mrs. Doris Jean Jarman Wilson, 74, of Statesville, died Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Mt. Olive, N.C. on August 19, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Juanita Jarman Barfield. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Todd Wilson. Mrs. Wilson graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Fayetteville State University. She was a retired educator from the Iredell-Statesville School System. Her effect on the community was profound. Survivors include her beloved husband, Mr. George Wilson, Jr., a daughter, Tonya Wilson Reid of the home, a son, George Wilson, III (Annissia) of Lenoir and grandchildren: Zenadia Reid, Aliyah Wilson and Coby Wilson. Services celebrating Mrs. Wilson’s life will be conducted beginning at 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening, December 29, 2016 at Mac Gray Auditorium of Statesville Senior High School.
