Mrs. Doris Jean Rary Albea, 83, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Albea was born in Iredell County on July 20, 1931, and was the daughter of the late James Edgar and Eura Adeline Shoemaker Rary. She attended school in Thomasville and graduated from Statesville city schools. On November 3, 1950, she married Clyde William Albea, Jr, who survives. Mrs. Albea was formerly employed with Eagles Dime Store and Troutman Shirt Mill and later was a stay at home mother for her children. She was a former member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and later she moved her membership to Hebron Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday school. She enjoyed reading the Bible and had studied the Bible through and through. She was the first woman secretary of Wayside Fire Department when it was organized. She enjoyed feeding the bird's everyday and loved all things in nature and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Curtis Rary and a sister, Antha Cartez Rary Shoemaker. Along with her husband of 63 years, Mrs. Albea is survived by a son, William Curtis Albea (Lori) of Asheboro, NC and a daughter, Antha Cyrette Albea Erutti (Glenn) of Eureka, MO. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jonathan William Albea and Michael James Albea, Kristin Lauran Pearson (Greg), Alyson Nicole Erutti, Stephen Glenn Erutti, and Joanna Susan Erutti along with one great-grandson, Christian Noah Bayer. Funeral service for Mrs. Albea will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, August 11, 2014, at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Blakley, Justin Blakley, Jonathan Albea, Michael Albea, Amos Faulk, and Stephen Erutti. Memorials may be given to Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 725 Hebron Road, Olin, NC 28625 or to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
