Mr. Donald Allen Teague, 80, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Donald was born in Iredell County on July 21, 1938 and was the son of the late Joseph M. Teague, Sr and Paulina Manning Teague. He attended Iredell County Schools.
Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served most of his time in Germany. Following his active military, he went to work for Statesville Chair Co. and worked there for over 40 years before his retirement.
Donald was a fan of NASCAR and a member of New Bethany Baptist Church. He attended faithfully while his health would allow. He loved his church and his church family with his whole heart. Donald had a special place in his heart for his friends, but no one compared to the love he had for his family. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of sharing in his life.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by seven brothers, Joseph Teague, Jr. (Una), J. Harrison Teague (Mary), Fred Teague, Darrell Teague, Howard Teague (Nadine), Earl Teague (Jean) and Gaines Teague, four sisters, Louise Lamberth (Wade), Helen Teague, Alma Robertson (Eddie) and Ona Teague and a nephew James Teague.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Cheryl T. Mason (Bill) and brother Eddie Teague, five sisters-in-law Mary Helen Teague, Lucy C. Teague, Judy H. Teague and Annie M. Teague, all of Statesville and Rosie J. Teague of TX. A special niece Debra K. Teague of Statesville and special friend Deloris Harris of Statesville and many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Donald Teague will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 6, 2019 at New Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason and Rev. John Teague officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the Iredell County Veterans Burial Detail will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends immediately following committal service.
