Donald Nelson Broadway

Donald Nelson Broadway, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed on to his home in Heaven on June 25th.
He was born September 18, 1943, to Nelson and Margaret Broadway in Troutman, North Carolina.
Donald played football for Troutman High School before graduating in 1961. He was in a rock n’ roll band named the Fairlanes. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and National Guard. Donald was employed at Associated Metal Works in Harmon. Donald was married to Kathy Sue Rains from 1966 to 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Margaret Broadway. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Katherine Alisa Broadway; son Donald Clayton Broadway (Tammy); three granddaughters, Angela Broadway, Rachael Broadway, and Allee Campbell; three grandsons, Michael Broadway, Wyatt Campbell, and Issac Campbell; sister Carolyn Cooper; three nephews, Scott, Shane, and Steve Moore; and one niece, Susan Moore.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 3rd at 5:00PM at Nicholson Funeral Home in the Chapel, 135 East Front Street, Statesville, NC 28677. Military honors will be rendered by United States National Guard. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00PM to 5:00PM.
